Creating Community Engagement Through Entertainment

A Special Night in Kingsport

We’re happy to share a unique feature showcasing the amazing time we had in Kingsport, Tennessee this February. Party on the Moon has been performing at the Kingsport Chamber Dinner for more than a decade, an annual event to celebrate community growth and engagement with local businesses. We love coming out to Kingsport and getting to work with the lovely people of the Chamber, as well as the local musicians they bring in to accompany Party on the Moon.

Collaborating with Students from Dobyns-Bennett High

Engaging with local musical communities is one of the things we love most about what we do at Dennis Smith Entertainment. The Kingsport Chamber Dinner is one of our favorite annual events to be a part of, because we get to share the stage with musicians from the marching band at nearby Dobyns-Bennett High. It’s a special opportunity for young musicians to get to work with one of the nation’s premier party bands, and we deeply enjoy getting to inspire these young men and women and show them the power that music and celebration has in creating goodwill across communities.

This year, we took a few moments during our sound check to interview Daniel Del Moro, assistant director of the marching band at Dobyns-Bennett. Watch the video below to see what he had to say about the unique opportunity to train students to provide high-caliber event entertainment, and his thoughts on working with Dennis Smith Entertainment and Party on the Moon.

We also took some time to sit down and chat with Nicole Austin, the Director of Membership and Communications for the Kingsport Chamber. Nicole is one of the lovely people in charge of putting this amazing event together and coordinating the musical entertainment. Watch the video below to hear what she has to say about Dennis Smith Entertainment, Party on the Moon, and the local engagement this annual dinner creates.
