Backstage Pass: Why should you book Party on the Moon?

In our latest interview series, our Events Liaison Manager Carson Smith sits down with Dennis Smith to share some reasons why our clients love Party on the Moon so much, and how they’ve stood the test of time as the most requested party band in the country.

Carson Smith: Hey everyone. My name is Carson Smith. I'm an Events Liaison Manager with Dennis Smith Entertainment. And today I'm sitting here with the founder, bandleader, and guitarist of Party on the Moon, Dennis Smith. One of the questions I get asked the most while speaking with clients is why they should book Party on the Moon. So in your own words, tell us why we should book Party on the Moon.

Dennis Smith: Well, I think there's a couple of things that really set us apart. And I think probably the main thing is, when we do events, we think of that event as a whole.

And by that I mean things like transitions are very important. Our band is really built from the theater concept more than a show band. So by that I mean, you know, we're using contrasting elements during the show and before the show to drive the energy because contrast drives energy.

So how can we use different musical elements, different song elements, different costumes, different blocking to make that event more memorable?

And I think another thing too, is I've done over 1500 events around the world, And I've had a chance to work with planners all over the world.

Doing corporate events and concerts and I really noticed that, you know, that there was a void in the marketplace as far as someone to help these planners from an entertainment point of view, how to move that event forward in an interesting, memorable way.

So when I started Dennis Smith Entertainment four years ago, one of the main drivers that I did that for was I wanted to work closely with my planners and my clients on how we can make their event more custom for their vision of the event.

Musically, you've got a band that's been together a long time. You've got a band that's a real band, not a pickup band. A band that rehearses regularly, has 7.5 hours of music, a nonstop three hour show, which we pioneered that concept, over 120 songs on a show, seamless without stops between the songs.

All of that is a given that you're going to get one of the best bands, if not one of the best bands in America.

But you're going to you're going to get me as your backup to make sure that I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that that event is going to go smoothly, almost like me having an eagle eye on the event, And helping that event move forward in a memorable way.
